Zeithaus App
USE CASE OVERVIEW
In the ZeitHaus automobile museum at the Autostadt in Wolfsburg, visitors can immerse themselves in automotive history, discover design icons and experience a cross-brand collection of around 260 vehicles. With the digital application, information about the young and classic cars on display can be accessed, saved and shared via QR codes. This allows visitors to access the vehicle data from home even after their visit to the museum and share it with friends.
OUR PROCEDURE
This was realised by adding QR codes to the vehicles on display, which are linked to a QR code scanner in the digital application. Visitors can call up, save and share the vehicle exposés. The SSP enables museum staff to easily change vehicles and update the information in the existing instance. This includes adding images, videos, technical data and fun facts.
RESULTS
The application is designed as a responsive web application that allows visitors to take their favourite vehicles with them digitally and open the saved content again from home. The integrated site plan shows on which floor and in which museum area the vehicles are located and assigns them to the main categories ‘Relationship boxes’ and ‘Design icons’. The vehicles are also divided into specific sub-categories such as ‘Design Family’, ‘Charged Mood’ and ‘Elegant Relationship’.
STATUS QUO
The digital application enriches the visitor experience at the ZeitHaus by creating an interactive and lasting connection to the vehicles on display. Visitors can not only enjoy the exhibits on site, but also access and share all important information after their visit. The SSP enables the vehicle data to be updated quickly and easily, ensuring that the museum is always up to date and the application does not require any subsequent development time.
